RAMSEY, MINN. – The Optical Laboratories Association (OLA) has awarded Vision-Ease Lens the “Best in Lens Material and Treatment” Award of Excellence for its Coppertone™ polarized lenses. Presented at OLA’s annual Award of Excellence banquet in Washington, D.C., the OLA awards recognize ophthalmic industry suppliers who have made outstanding contributions to the laboratory community and eye care providers (ECPs).

The OLA Award of Excellence is one of the most prestigious awards offered by the optical industry. The selection process brings together the OLA member labs to select the year’s top frame and lens design products, optical laboratory equipment and other systems.
Launched in October 2007, Coppertone polarized lenses block 100 percent of harmful UVA and UVB rays and offer more protection from High-Energy Visible (HEV) light than ordinary lenses. They are offered in brown and gray colors and numerous styles, including SFSV, Planos, bifocals, trifocals and PALs.
This is the third Vision-Ease Lens OLA Award of Excellence. Previously, Vision-Ease Lens was awarded for the launch of Tegra® aspheric lenses in 1998 and for lens material for LifeRx® lenses in 2006.
