Vision-Ease Lens Introduces Thindex™ 1.70 High Index Lens

RAMSEY, MINN. (Oct. 6, 2009) – Paying attention to consumer preference for fashion and comfort in lens choice, Vision-Ease Lens (VEL) today announced availability of new Thindex™ 1.70 high index lenses beginning Nov. 16. The lenses combine thin, lightweight comfort with industry-leading optics, and are available in A SFSV, A FSV SuperHydro AR and a Novella Short Corridor progressive.

“Vision-Ease Lens understands customers are seeking lens options compatible with changing fashion and comfort demands,” said John Bator, senior product manager, VEL. “The Thindex 1.70 high index lens extends these options to customers with challenging prescriptions, including frame flexibility, added comfort and gives them the latest technology available.”

Thindex 1.70 lenses are thinner and lighter than 1.67 lenses and rival 1.74 high index lenses for greater comfort in mid to stronger prescriptions. They also feature a higher ABBE value than 1.67 and 1.74, resulting in less chromatic aberration. SuperHydro anti-reflective coating on the FSV offering allows lenses to transmit maximum light for sharper night vision and reduced glare, while offering effective liquid repellence, high abrasion resistance and anti-static properties. An oleophobic coating resists smudges and oil, making lenses easy to clean.

The Novella Short Corridor Progressive provides additional benefits, including a 120 degree far vision field for unmatched comfort and a wide, far distance. The soft design allows for a smooth transition between viewing zones, and a 14 mm fitting height and 11 mm short corridor accommodate small, stylish frames, allowing the near vision and reading areas to remain intact.

Thindex lenses are available in a wide range of powers and bases. For complete product specifications please visit www.vision-ease.com.
