RAMSEY, MINN. (July 14, 2009) –
Vision-Ease Lens (VEL), manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses, today announced it will further extend its SunRx® polarized product line with the introduction of coated and uncoated plastic lenses. With a number of styles and colors available, the new SunRx plastic polarized lenses round out the product portfolio accommodating a wide variety of customer needs.
SunRx plastic lenses are available in 77mm semi-finished single vision (SFSV) and 77mm D28 Bifocals, both offered in base curves of 2.25, 4.25, 6.25 and 8.25. The bifocal options offer an add range of +1.00 to +3.00. 76mm finished single vision (FSV) planos in a 6.25 base curve also are available and all lenses are offered in gray and brown.
SunRx plastic polarized lenses eliminate 98 percent of reflected glare allowing better vision outdoors and while driving, and help protect eye health by blocking 100 percent of harmful UV rays. Available with a scratch-resistant coating ensuring lenses last longer, SunRx lenses provide improved visual acuity and depth perception.

In April, VEL expanded its polycarbonate offerings to include an all-new SunRx Classic Green™ color, SunRx plano, SunRx SFSV 8.50 base and SunRx Trifocal. The full portfolio of SunRx polycarbonate lenses includes:
- 75mm SFSV in gray, brown and classic green, as well as mirror coated blue, gold and silver
- 75mm FSV plano in gray and brown
- 75mm D28 Bifocal in gray, brown and classic green
- 75mm 7X28 Trifocal in gray
- 80mm polarized progressive lenses in gray, brown and classic green
