NEWARK, NJ. (April 2009) – On March 28, Vision-Ease Lens (VEL) held its Latin America/Caribbean Customer Appreciation Dinner in conjunction with Vision Expo East in New York. The company presented its Vision-Ease Lens Awards (VELA) to seventeen recipients, including retailers, distributors and labs, in recognition of their leadership and contribution to the Latin American optical industry.

 

Tony Brea, VEL director, Latin America, Alejandro Lopez, VEL Central America/Caribbean regional manager, Doug Hepper, CEO and president, and Scott Schaller, vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing recognized the VELA winners and thanked all of the VEL customers, colleagues and friends in attendance.

 

Michael Devlyn of Opticas Devlyn South America was awarded the “Latin America Retailer of the Year” VELA in recognition of his leadership, growth and application of new technologies and changes in corporate culture as part of their dynamics of change, indicated Brea.

 

Super Lens of Medellin, Colombia, Servioptica of Bogota, Colombia and Megalux of Chile tied for the “Latin America Lab of the Year” VELA.
