Vision-Ease Lens Employees Support Habitat For Humanity With Time And Enthusiasm

RAMSEY, MINN. (Sept. 29, 2008) – Keeping with its tradition to be a good corporate citizen, Vision-Ease Lens (VEL), a leading manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses based in Ramsey, Minn., and its employees recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Over the course of five days, VEL employees spent time framing, sheetrocking, taping, sodding and landscaping a multi-unit home in Ramsey.

“Positively impacting the community we live and work in is something Vision-Ease and its employees strive for and find excitement in, and we are honored to put that to work for an organization such as Habitat for Humanity” said John Oyen, Director of Human Resources, VEL. “The generosity of our employees in this effort was amazing – we had a great turnout and completed a lot of work in five days.”

In addition to hands-on work, VEL made a substantial cash donation, catered lunches and provided refreshments for those assisting with the project throughout the week. Working alongside the future homeowners, Vision-Ease employees helped Habitat for Humanity work toward its goal of building homes in partnership with families who demonstrate a need and willingness to help construct their own housing.

The project in Ramsey is set to be finished in December after taking one year from start to finish.
